El actor estadounidense Tim Robbins posa junto a su estrella en el Paseo de la Fama de Hollywood en Los Ángeles, California. (EFE)

El actor Tim Robbins, ganador de un Óscar por su papel secundario en “Mystic River” (2003), recibió su estrella en el Paseo de la Fama de Hollywood como reconocimiento a su carrera artística, informó la prensa especializada. 

El nombre de Robbins fue el número 2 371 en quedar grabado en el suelo de Hollywood Boulevard cerca del de su pareja, la actriz Susan Sarandon, que consiguió su estrella en el 2003, y que lo acompañó en el acto, al igual que su amigo Jack Black.

“Estamos entusiasmados en honrar a Tim Robbins por sus logros en la industria del cine”, aseguró Ana Martinez-Holler, vicepresidenta de comunicación de la Cámara de Comercio de Hollywood, institución encargada de gestionar el Paseo de la Fama.

Robbins, que cumplirá 50 años el 16 de octubre, se hizo famoso por sus actuaciones al tiempo que por su crítico discurso contra el Gobierno d Estados Unidos, especialmente en materias como la Guerra de Irak o la pena de muerte.

No obstante, el actor ha suavizado su lado más polémico con el paso del tiempo, y según sus compañeros de trabajo en sus dos últimos filmes “City of Ember” y “The Lucky Ones”, Robbins se comportó más como un padre de familia que como un provocador, según el testimonio recogido por la revista The Hollywood Reporter.

Tanto Robbins como Sarandon apoyaron públicamente a John Edwards en las elecciones primarias del partido demócrata que finalmente ganó Barack Obama.

Ambos actores confían en la victoria del senador por Illinois en la campaña electoral por la presidencia de Estados Unidos, aunque Robbins aseguró que la victoria de Obama no “soluciona los problemas”.

“Si realmente queremos cambio, depende de nosotros, de la gente. Es nuestro trabajo asegurarnos de que ellos -el nuevo gobierno- haga su trabajo”, afirmó.

Entre las películas de Tim Robbins destacan títulos como “The Secret Life of Words” (2005), “Mystic River” (2003), “Dead Man Walking” (1995) o “The Player” (1992).
